The Woman in Black

Hammer make a confident and classy return with this morbid haunt fest in mould of the vintage horror house films. First of all, do NOT be put off by the 12a certificate, if this came out in the 70s it would a 15, ratings have just become much more liberal these days. Concentrating on chills rather than gore, the film makes full use of creepy Victorian iconography such as sinister looking children’s toys and the looming, gothic sets.
